Nearly every Denver
business would probably jump at an opportunity for ultra-cheap
advertising and direct marketing opportunities aimed at eager consumers.
Now they can.
Enter Moxie-Moms, a
Boulder-based company that connects businesses with mothers and
mothers-to-be.
For a $50 annual
fee, mothers get a 15 percent discount at participating businesses and
are eligible to attend frequent fitness, entertainment or other
recreational outings.
Businesses,
meanwhile, receive free advertising on the Moxie-Mom website, www.moxie-moms.com , as well as opportunities to hold functions at their stores.
The group has
gathered momentum in Boulder, Longmont and Broomfield since it debuted
in November 2003, and within the past month and a half ventured to
Denver.
All told, the group
has 665 members and 81 business partners in 26 Colorado cities.
"It's going well,"
said Brooke White, owner of Get Fired Up, a pottery store with three
Denver-area locations. White hosted a pottery-painting session last
week with about a dozen moms, hoping the night of fun would spur future
sales.
"I'm sure they will
come back and bring their kids," White said.
Other businesses
have already reaped the benefits of partnering with the group.
"It has brought me
some new clients," said Dan Groenwald, owner of Boulder's Little
Mountain Outdoor Gear For Kids. "It's been significant."
