The
creation of the Signing
Time! series was a labor
of love, born out of
the desire to teach children everywhere how to sign basic words in
order to
communicate. This series was created by sisters Emilie de Azevedo Brown
(mother
of Alex, age 5, and Zachary, age 2) and Rachel de Azevedo Coleman,
mother of
Leah (7) who is deaf, and Lucy (3) who has Cerebral Palsy. These moms have MOXIE!! Rachel’s touching story was
featured on
NBC’s TODAY show last April and also in Ladies’ Home Journal (August
2003
issue), as well as numerous local and national newscasts and
publications. For
