Since 1998, the Women's Wilderness Institute has offered wilderness experiences for women and teen girls in the Rocky Mountains and the deserts of the Southwest. We offer fun, inspiring real-life expeditions and courses that range from skill-building clinics to contempletative, reflective retreats. Enjoy rock climbing, mountain biking, backpacking, yoga retreats, canoeing, flyfishing and creative retreats focusing on photography, writing or personal goal-setting. We also offer Custom Courses for groups who wish to build their own adventure.
At the heart of our mision is The Girls’ Wilderness Program, which serves girls age 12-18 on 6- to 12-day wilderness backpacking and rock climbing expeditions. Our innovative program is specifically designed to create a ‘girl-positive’ environment in which participants can discover the power of their own voices, and the confidence and leadership skills to make a difference in their world. Fees generated from the Women’s Program help to ensure that this program is open to any girl who wants to participate.

Enjoy an opportunity to get outdoors with other women in a supportive, nurturing environment. Our courses are a great way to relax and clear your head, but it's also a great opportunity to gain skills that will broaden your world and bring back new vitality to your family.
